Spotted Wing Drosophila in Colorado!
Spotted Wing Drosophila, a newly arrived exotic pest of small fruits, stone fruits, melons, tomatoes and other soft fleshed fruits has been found on the front range near Ft. Collins. SWD was first found in the US in 2008 and has since spread to many states and northward into Canada. It has not been detected in western Colorado.
